Laser Fundamentals:

In this DVD we learn about the basic physics behind the laser. You will learn about waves, hertz, frequency and the light spectrum from radio waves to x-rays and we’ll discuss the difference between E1 and E2; the high and low energy states of  the medium.

This part of the program also looks at incoherent and coherent light ,along with the meanings behind waves being in-phase and out of phase and how that affects the power within the beam. We also review the reflecting mirrors and meaning behind resonance length.  

The Laser Medium:

In this DVD we discuss the medium gases and the required quality expectations. We learn about the resonator and the different types of compressors such as  slow and fast axial flow.

The mirrors and TEM modes are discussed along with setting the correct focus and focus zero; beam parameters and wave modes: continuous, pulsed, spike, enhanced and super enhanced.

We also visit the different types of lasers as based on delivery systems: fixed beam, flying optics and the hybrid.

From there we move to the subject of safety, covering subjects from radiation exposure to electrocution risks. The purpose of and need for a Laser Safety Officer.

We also discuss Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as they refer to the chemicals used and the toxic gasses that may be released when some materials are cut.

The Punch Press:

In this DVD “The Punch Press” the operator will learn about the basics of the Punch Press; be it a manual or CNC single station or the CNC turret. Lean the parts and pieces of the machine.
